The most challenging of all projects. Murex is increasingly
becoming an industry bench mark specified by banks to ensure they comply with
the controls enforced by the regulators around the world.
New implementation replace the overtly high risk and ad hoc spreadsheets
and in house custom made systems that in today's market place are becoming
increasingly unacceptable.
New implementations not only require technical expertise,
assessment of business and market requirements, but also the ability to assist
an organisation to fundamentally change their existing working practices.
Our internal project framework for such projects allows us
to ensure that every project goes to plan. Recent implementations have been
carried out for Mizuho and HSBC.
INTERFACING

Interfacing Murex with other third party and in house developed systems is vital to a businesses efficiency.
We are continually interfacing Murex to both, passing data in and out. We have written trade feeds, market
data feeds and static data feeds, in addition to interfacing pricing models into Murex using their Flex API.
With the growing use of XML the technical aspects of data feeds have become less challenging,
however the major issues are now exception handling and data translation. Data translation is the most
challenging aspect as it requires knowledge of both systems and the business.
With our long history of successful interfacing implementations, and strong business knowledge
we are ideally situated to help with these projects.
DEVELOPMENT

There are often occasions when Murex simply does not meet the businesses requirements. In those circumstances it becomes necessary to
work with Murex to get them to enhance the system. We have worked on a number of enhancements to the system the most significant
being the "Portfolio Viewer". These projects require detailed business understanding to specify the changes, and then a strong
and active relationship with Murex to ensure that the development remain on track and on time.
UPGRADES

Upgrade projects pose many challenges. There are risks that the system may regress, risks that the project over runs and
risks that the original business objectives are not met. At RowIT we have developed a tried and tested methodology starting
from initial testing, UAT and actual upgrade process, enabling the successful completion of system upgrades.

this has come from working on implementations for Credit, Equity, Bond and FX trading desks. This knowledge allows us to
speak with the business users with a common language, and ensure that we are able to configure the system to meet their
specific needs.
